TWO men were seriously injured following a hit-and-run in Coventry on Tuesday night.
Around 11pm, an altercation occurred between two groups of people on Westminister Road.
Two men believed to be from one of the groups, walked off onto Grosvenor Road with their dog, before they were deliberately hit by a silver Ford Mondeo.
Both men, aged 30, were taken to hospital – one of them is in a critical condition.
The dog received serious injuries which could not be treated by the vets and sadly died.
Det Insp Sangha from West Midlands Police CID, said: “We urgently need to speak to anyone who might have witnessed the disorder or saw the collision as soon as possible.
“One man is really poorly and another man remains in a serious but stable condition.”
She added she was particularly keen to hear from anyone who has CCTV or dash cam footage.
“If you have any information no matter how small, please get in touch. The smallest bit of information could help our investigation.”
Officers have spoken to witnesses, carried out house to house enquiries and CCTV is currently being reviewed.
