Coventry set to shine this summer with plenty of activities to get involved in

A WHOLE host of events will encourage people to get out and about in Coventry over the summer.

The season is packed full of exciting events and activities which are being highlighted as part of the Explore Coventry campaign.

The city is hosting some sports in the Commonwealth Games, there are theatre productions including David Walliams’ Awful Auntie (taking place outdoors at the Coventry Cathedral ruins) and the Godiva Festival (War Memorial Park from September 2 to 4).

Paul Jones, of Visit Coventry said: “There is something for everyone – from sport to music and from theatre to exhibitions.”

“There are even dogs and dinosaurs – although not in the same place.”

He added Coventry’s year as the UK City of Culture had helped put it on the map as a place to visit.

“It’s vitally important that we all build on that legacy and make the most of the city’s incredible venues, attractions and event programmes.”

And he said he hoped this Summer campaign would build on the success of the Winter Wishes campaign experienced last Christmas.
