COVENTRY City duo Viktor Gyokeres and Callum Doyle have been called up to represent their countries ahead of the upcoming international break.
Gyokeres has been named in the senior Sweden squad and will hope to add to his seven caps in matches against Serbia and Slovenia in the UEFA Nations League.
And loanee Doyle has been called up to England’s under-2o squad for fixtures against Chile, Morocco and Australia in Spain.
Sweden striker Gyokeres has two goals in the league this season, having scored an impressive 19 goals last term, and last scored for his country against Norway in June.
He is joined in the Sweden squad by the likes of Newcastle United’s club-record £63m striker Alexander Isak and Manchester United pair Victor Lindelof and Anthony Elanga.
Doyle, on loan at Coventry from Manchester City, helped England under-19’s win the European Championships in the summer and is in line to earn his first cap at under-20 level having made four league appearances this season.
Ian Foster’s young Lions’ squad also includes Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka, Crystal Palace’s Malcolm Ebiowei and Man City’s on loan Stoke City striker Liam Delap.
Sweden play on September 24 and 27 respectively with England under-20’s in action on September 21, 24 and 27.
