SIKH Union Coventry will be holding its rearranged annual 15kilometre charity walk on Sunday, November 20.
The 35th annual Guru Tegh Bahadur ji Charity walk was scheduled for September but was postponed as a mark of respect following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
The cash raised from the walk will be going towards Bowel Cancer UK, the Lord Mayors charities, Sikh Union Local and other international projects.
The walk will start and finish at Ramgarhia Gurdwara and will call at several Gurdwaras, Mandirs and Churches in Foleshill, including Coventry Cathedral.
Coventry Lord Mayor Coun Kevin Maton will perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony to start the walk, alongside the city’s Lady Godiva, Pru Porretta and Sikh Union chairman Palvinder Chana.
Other local dignitaries to be invited include British Army members and the Nepalese community of Nuneaton.
Club spokesman Bali Panesar said: “This year we are delighted to be raising funds for Bowel Cancer UK, which is solely dependent on public donations.
“Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK and the second biggest cancer killer so this is a cause that will help many people.”
