ATHLETICS - Chalmers and Porwal lead Godiva Harriers Handicap standings

JOE Chalmers and Rhea Porwal are the early pacesetters in Coventry Godiva Harriers’ respective Handicap standings.

Chalmers impressed in the first race of the season, at Betley Court in Staffordshire, to lead the club’s Bettman Handicap Trophy standings contested between Godiva’s male runners.

And Chalmers leads Daniel Dalton and Munya Mukesi who currently occupy second and third place respectively.

Porwal sits top of the Norma Pugh Trophy standings, at Park Hall Country Park in Stoke-on-Trent, contested between Godiva’s female runners.




She is closely followed by Sally Boon and Charlotte Power who currently occupy second and third place respectively.

Both Handicap Trophy competitions are contested over four fixtures throughout the season with three more races to take place over the coming months.


And Godiva’s Interim Chair, Officials Coordinator and Club House Manager amongst other roles, Stewart Barnes, was presented with a volunteer award by England Athletics for his services to athletics having been involved in the sport for almost 60 years.
