Mental health and well-being event tomorrow in Coventry

Coventry Editorial 17th Feb, 2023   0

PEOPLE will be given a safe space to discuss and seek support for their mental health and wellbeing at a free community event this Saturday, February 18.

The three-hour event will be run by Nirmal-Pure Mind and held at the White Diamond Venue on Foleshill Road from 11am.

Visitors will be able to hear the story of special guest speaker Raj Singh, who will open up about his experiences after losing his wife at a young age.

Raj will speak about how the situation impacted on his and his children’s mental health, as well as how they overcame the obstacles they faced.

There will also be the chance to ask Raj questions, network with others and allow people to openly discuss and find support for their mental health.

The event will be hosted by former BBC Asian Network radio presenter Sukhi Bart, who fronted the last event in November, and food and refreshments will be available on the day.

Nirmal pure-mind was set up anonymously last January and looks to help people with their mental health during the cost-of-living crisis through events including health and fitness and arts and crafts activities.

It also hosts a walking group every Sunday morning at the War Memorial Park.

The organisation aims to use events such as this one to encourage people of all ages to open up about their mental health.

People can email their name and phone number to [email protected] to register or call  07815 615 632 for more information.
