Coventry's A46 Walsgrave junction upgrade takes step further

Coventry Editorial 28th Feb, 2023   0

THE £112.5million upgrade to Coventry’s A46 Walsgrave junction has moved a step closer after Octavius Infrastructure was awarded the contract to conduct the work.

Current congestion levels are having a serious impact on communities and businesses.

Octavius recently worked on the adjacent Binley junction upgrade which was opened to the public in November.

Last June, National Highways announced its preferred route for Walsgrave Junction following a public consultation, with surveys and assessments currently being carried out to develop its design further.

National Highways will hold another public consultation later this year to share more detailed proposals and seek local views ahead of submitting a Development Consent Order application.

National Highways Senior Project Manager, Joe Mulqueen, said the much-needed upgrade to the Walsgrave junction would bring safer and more reliable journeys, cut congestion and delays and, once complete, provide an economic boost for communities across the region, supporting growth and development.”
