HARRY Chesterton scored twice as Coventry United romped to a huge 7-2 victory against Eynesbury Rovers to end their four-game winless run.
Chesterton scored twice in the space of six first-half minutes after early goals from Mason Platts and Samir Muzaffar put Coventry ahead before Samuel Rodber, Renato Prifti and Joseph Agunbiade all struck in the second half to complete a dominant victory at Butts Park Arena.
The result means United sit seventh in the United Counties League Premier Division South table.
And Coventry took the lead after just two minutes when Platts slotted the ball into the far corner only for Victor Osobu to equalise nine minutes later.
However, United reclaimed the lead on 14 minutes when Muzaffar finished at the second attempt after his initial effort was saved from Platts’s through ball.
The goals kept on coming as Chesterton extended Coventry’s lead on 29 minutes when he finished after Platts pounced on a mistake by an Eynesbury defender.
Rovers reduced the deficit when Osobu scored his second of the game on 33 minutes only for Chesterton to match the feat two minutes later to put Coventry 4-2 up at the break.
The goals dried up until the 78th minute when Rodber produced a cool finish from six-yards out from Ruari O’Boyle’s cross
And Prifti sealed the points on 83 minutes when he picked the ball up and drove towards goal before finding the net from 17-yards out.
Agunbiade completed the scoring with a fine solo goal on 89 minutes as he beat several defenders before smashing the ball past the Eynesbury goalkeeper.
Coventry are next in action away at Newport Pagnell Town on Saturday, March 4 with kick-off at 3pm at Willen Road.
