Coventry City stars see litter pick up as big win

Coventry Editorial 14th Mar, 2023   0

A BUSY stretch of the A444 got a much-needed clean-up last week thanks to volunteers from Sky Blues in the Community, McDonald’s Ronald’s Rangers’ and Coventry Building Society.

The unsightly condition of the stretch of road, between the Coventry Building Society Arena and the M6 island, had been noticed by members of the public, with several stadium staff overhearing comments about its state during shifts.

The three organisations managed to fill over 160 bags of litter during the pick and even received a helping hand from Sky Blues stars Jonathan Panzo and Brooke Norton-Cuffy.

Coventry Building Society’s senior community specialist Lynne Crosbie said: “Everyone can be really proud of what was achieved.

“We were blessed with some great weather and a fantastic bunch of volunteers who got really stuck in and cleared up an unbelievable amount of litter.”
