Finham Primary's eco club plants 13 trees after getting Amazon's help

ECO-FRIENDLY youngsters at Finham Primary School have planted 13 apple trees in its grounds after a generous donation from Amazon.

Young members of the school’s eco club met with the company’s bosses who, after a presentation, agreed to donate the trees to the school.

Amazon representatives joined the eco club to plant the trees, with the hope they will grow to provide apples for children at the school.

The Finham eco club, which has been running for around a year, has 12 children from Years One to Six.

The group meets every Thursday at lunchtime with Year Four teacher and eco coordinator Peter Jennings.

Other exciting eco-friendly schemes at the school include introducing a waste-free Wednesday, creating an eco code and regularly presenting in assemblies in front of the school.

The club is also looking to develop a competition in which school environmentally-friendly bags would be designed by children to go on sale to parents.
