A WOMAN has admitted to killing her five-year-old grandson David Mario Lazar who was found with fatal stab wounds in Coventry.
Elena Anghel today pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of David, who was known as ‘Mario’, on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Nothing could be done to save David Mario after he was found with serious injuries at an address on Poplar Road, Earlsdon, on January 25 last year.
Anghel, aged 51, was given an indefinite hospital order under the Mental Health Act at Leamington Justice Centre.
Detective Inspector Laura Harrison, from our homicide unit, said: “This is a really tragic case where a young boy lost his life.
“Our thoughts, as always, remain with Mario’s family and all those who knew him.”
