Teenager arrested for breaching bail conditions by returning to Bedworth

Coventry Editorial 28th Jun, 2023   0

A BEDWORTH teenager was arrested for breaching the conditions of his court bail earlier today (June 28).

The 16-year-old boy’s court bail conditions required him to remain outside of Warwickshire, but he went missing from his assigned placement and was found and arrested in his home town.

He is one of twelve young people suspected of being involved in violent offences in North Warwickshire who are being targeted as part of Operation Outfitter.

A 54-year-old man, also from Bedworth, has also been arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer and assisting an offender, after allegedly trying to physically prevent police from arresting someone.

Insp Kris Shore said: “We hope this sends a message to anyone who might try to harbour suspects on the run.

“In short – don’t. We will catch up with you, and we will apply the law, which may involve taking you into custody as well.”
