COVENTRY is the UK city with the highest rises in break-ins over the summer holidays each year, new data has revealed.
And Kensington Road in Earlsdon is a particular hotbed for summer thefts, with the majority of offences being either on or near the street in the last three years.
The report by A-Plan Insurance looked at how burglary crime rates changed in July and August compared to the first half of the year.
In total, 62 per cent of cities analysed report a significant rise in break-ins over the summer holidays.
Coventry with residential property break-ins increased by 34 per cent over the summer months.
According to the Home Office police data, the number of burglaries in Coventry rose from 136 in June to an average of 182 each month throughout July, August, and early September.
This is despite nearby Warwickshire reporting the lowest rate of annual residential burglaries anywhere in the West Midlands.
