A NEW dedicated town centre officer has been appointed for Nuneaton and Bedworth to help tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.

From November 17, Police Constable Tom Shorthouse will be the beat manager for Nuneaton and Bedworth town centres as part of the Safer Neighbourhood Team.

This role will involve organising SNT policing activities, promoting community engagement, and maintaining public safety in the area.

Chief Inspector Steve Davies said: “Our new dedicated beat manager for the town centres will allow us to keep a close oversight on town centre safety.

“Tom is an experienced officer who knows our area inside and out, and I am greatly looking forward to the benefits he will bring to the people of Nuneaton and Bedworth.”
