A BALSALL Common woman has revealed the secret to a long life after celebrating her 100th birthday.
Joyce Astill was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents at her Harper Fields care home as she received a telegram from King Charles III.
The birthday girl was also treated to a champagne reception and a special birthday cake.
The former housewife revealed the secret to her getting to 100 was purely luck and accepting life for what it was.
She added: “A few cheeky glasses of champagne, a delicious buffet and your family, what more could you want when you’re this old”.
