COVENTRY United produced a sensational second-half comeback to stun promotion-chasing Newport Pagnell Town and claim a 3-2 victory.
The Red and Greens trailed by two goals at the break before Joe Blowers struck twice to level the game and Samir Muzaffar’s free-kick completed the turnaround at Butts Park Arena.
And the result means United sit 12th in the United Counties League Premier Division South table.
Coventry fell behind on 10 minutes as Joel Nketia’s powerful low drive from the right-hand side of the penalty area left Harvey Randle with no chance.
And Newport doubled their lead from the penalty spot seven minutes later as Daniel Walker sent Randle the wrong way after Nathanial Gosnal-Tyler drew a foul in the box.
However, United reduced the deficit five minutes after the break as Blowes curled a stunning effort from 25-yards out into the top right corner.
And Blowers drew Coventry level on 65 minutes after controlling Adam Miles’s header on his chest before volleying home from the edge of the penalty area.
United completed the comeback on 70 minutes when Muzaffar curled a free-kick into the left corner of the goal from 20-yards out.
Coventry are next in action at home to St Neots Town on Saturday, January 13 with kick-off at 3pm at Butts Park Arena.
