A POPULAR children’s play area in Exhall is set to get a £75,000 revamp.

The project at the New Road Recreation Ground will see a host of new play attractions installed.

Once complete, youngsters will be able to enjoy a rock and bowl roundabout, Viking swings, a slide and a spinning turtle with safety mats.

Work on the play area is set to get under way shortly.

The old equipment will be removed from New Road within the next couple of weeks.

A path will be installed across February and early March.

New play equipment will be fitted from the last week in March to the middle of April.

Ward councillor for Exhall, Coun Damon Brown, said: “I am delighted that the park at New Road is to be refurbished with new play equipment and pathways.

“It’s something I’ve been campaigning for since I became a councillor in 2018.

“Ash Green’s parks and play areas have needed improvement for some years and this is a great step forward towards bringing the play equipment in the area up to date.’’
