Cash boost to help Coventry charity for visually impaired

Coventry Editorial 7th Feb, 2024   0

A COVENTRY charity has received a £2,000 cash boost to help them give vital support to those who are blind or visually impaired.

Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind offers support with people coping with vision loss.

The charity provides IT and smart device skills, and exercising opportunities.

It also provides creative activities such as music craft and allotment as well as social outings.

The charity was nominated for the money by Maria Meireles, who suggested to her employer, Amazon, that they should receive the funds.

She said: “I’m pleased Amazon is supporting the work of Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind, as vision loss is a common struggle for many in our community.

“I hope this donation helps those in need receive the support they deserve.”

Hugh Sorrill, Chief Executive of Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind added:“We are so thankful to receive this donation from Amazon.

“It’s great to have our work recognised – every donation helps us as we provide services for those who need it.”
