POLITICS, food, Moomins and more is on the menu in Stratford Literary Festival ‘s autumn season.

The festival at Stratford ArtsHouse kicks off on Friday September 22 when award-winning food writer Yotam Ottolenghi will talk about some of his signature recipes.

And on Friday October 6 BBC North America Editor Jon Sopel will give his views on life and politics in the Trump-era.

The festival continues its popular half term activities with a day of events on Wednesday October 25 celebrating the Moomins, created by illustrator Tove Janssen. Children age three to 11 can enjoy story-telling, workshops with Escape Arts, a puppet show in Moominvalley and competitions to win Moomin merchandise.

And continuing the international affairs theme for the grown-ups – on Saturday October 28 human rights campaigner Baroness Shami Chakrabarti, will be discussing gender inequality.

She will be followed on the same evening by BBC Correspondent and multi-award-winning war reporter Fergal Keane, who will share growing up in Ireland and his experience of reporting from some of the world’s greatest conflicts.

On Wednesday November 8 veteran chef, restaurateur and TV presenter Rick Stein will be taking the audience on a lunchtime culinary odyssey to Mexico and California, the subject of his latest book and accompanying TV series.

The autumn series will round off with an event on Thursday November 16 in partnership with the RSC in which the best-selling writer Robert Harris will be in conversation with Mike Poulton about the challenges of adapting his epic trilogy Imperium which will be premiered later the same evening at the RSC Theatre.
