AN ANNIVERSARY charity ball hosted by property experts Shortland Horne has raised almost £5,000 for Zoe’s Place Bay Hospice.

More than 150 guests from across the region, including Lord Mayor of Coventry Michael Hammon, attended the recent black tie event at Nailcote Hall, which included a silent auction featuring everything from a Land Rover Off-Road Experience, to a signed copy of Unbelievable by Jessica Ennis.

The top selling item on the night was an England 2003 Rugby shirt signed and framed, which fetched a staggering £500 for charity.

Other donated items included a signed Coventry City football, a bottle of Bollinger champagne, Selfridges Christmas Sweet Celebrations hamper, an 18-hole round of golf for four players at Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club, a signed Cilla Black presentation piece as well as a signed copy of Beyond the Limits by Ranulph Fiennes.

Nailcote Hall also donated a ‘four ball’ on the British Par 3 Championship Cromwell Golf Course and a three-course lunch in the Oak Room restaurant at its hotel.

“We are delighted and incredibly grateful to Shortland Horne for organising and hosting this incredible 20th anniversary charity ball in aid of Zoe’s Place,” said Muna Chauhan, corporate manager of Zoe’s Place.

“It was wonderful to see so many people from across Coventry and Warwickshire attend this amazing event and bid on the Silent Auction, which goes a long way to helping us raise the money we so desperately need to keep this vital service going in Coventry.

“We are also incredibly grateful for the many donations to the Silent Auction – including the England 2003 Rugby shirt which raised a fantastic £500 on the night.”

Zoe’s Place was this year’s chosen charity for Shortland Horne, with bosses and staff holding numerous fundraising events throughout 2015 which culminated in the charity ball.
