A TWO car crash near Stoneleigh left a woman in her 70s with serious injuries.

It happened outside the Severn Trent Water Plant, close to the junction of St Martins Road and the B4115, between Coventry and Stoneleigh, at around 4.40pm on Sunday (August 11).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance found two cars that had suffered significant front end damage.

“A woman in her 70s in one vehicle was in a serious condition. Ambulance staff worked with firefighters to rapidly extricate her from the wreckage.

“After treatment at the scene, she was taken by ambulance to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire with multiple injuries.

“The driver of the other vehicle had been able to get out of his vehicle. The man in his 30s was treated for less serious injuries before being taken to the same hospital by ambulance.”
