Fun and games to be had at Herbert over summer holidays

Coventry Editorial 12th Aug, 2018   0

THERE’S a whole lot of fun to be had at the Herbert in Coventry during the summer holidays.

The art gallery and museum is staging the exhibition Play: An Exploration Of Toys, Games & Fun until September 23.

Visitors can delve into the world of play in the interactive exhibition charting the history of play over the past 2,000 years.

From marbles to Meccano, and dolls to dressing up, there’s plenty of opportunity for some hands-on fun and games for all ages.

And people can even feature their own favourites in the exhibition by donating photos of their own toys to the Virtual Museum by using #playattheherbert on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

The gallery is also staging Rare: From 8-bit to Xbox One – an exhibition celebrating the award-winning and internationally renowned video games company based in Warwickshire.

It offers the chance to journey through three decades of games such as Battletoads, Banjo-Kazooie, GoldenEye and Viva Piñata, and also set sail on the Sea of Thieves and explore how Rare’s latest release was made.
