Historic Berkswell Windmill to open Easter weekend

Coventry Editorial 18th Apr, 2019   0

THE HISTORIC Berkswell Windmill will be open this bank holiday weekend.

The windmill in Balsall Common will open its doors on Easter Monday (April 22) from noon until 4pm.

There will also be plenty of entertainment on offer including mini-stone for the children to attempt flour making, demonstrations from the Coventry Weavers and Spinners and singer Bill Pullen will be performing.

Solihull’s Mayor, Councillor Flo Nash, will be on hand to open the event.

Cream teas will also be available on the lawn.

Built in 1826 but last used as a working Windmill in 1948, it is thought to be one of the most complete mills in the country – with all of its original machinery still in tact.

There is a small entrance fee which includes a guided tour of £3.50 adults; £1 under 16s and £8 family ticket of two adults and two children.

All proceeds go towards the maintenance of the Mill on Windmill Lane.
