MEN are being urged to get screened for prostate cancer in Warwick on Thursday April 19.
The Graham Fulford Trust, set up in 2004 to increase awareness and provide PSA testing, is holding its next drop-in screening session at the Nelson Club, from 6.30pm to 8.45pm. Tests are free, although the charity welcomes donations, and there is no need to book.
Warwick businessman Mr Fulford set up the charity in 2004 after losing a close friend and a family member to the disease which is now the third most common cause of death in UK.
All men over 50 are entitled to the simple blood test which detects raised levels of PSA. Men of black African and Caribbean heritage are particularly at risk.
Since the trust was launched it has carried out more than 89,000 tests which have detected over 1,300 cancers.
The Rotary Club of Warwick recently presented the trust with £100 to support the work of the trust.
