PEACEMAKERS gathered in Leamington to spread a little harmony among humankind.

The rain was not enough to put off the thousands who flocked to the 41st Peace Festival in the Pump Room Gardens over the weekend.

Stalls were selling everything from upcycled saris to wind chimes, while music and peace talks provided a healthy dose of entertainment and education.

Scores of human rights, environmental and animal campaigners included Justice for Palestinians, Amnesty International UK, Compassion in World Farming, Goodwill and Growth for Africa, Warwickshire Badger Group and Action 21.

The annual two day festival stemmed from several festivals held in Leamington in the late 1970s to promote living peacefully alongside others across the world.

Warwick and Leamington MP Matt Western was among those who attended.
