Revved-up for classic car show

Coventry Editorial 3rd Jul, 2021   0

CLASSIC car owners are preparing to rev up once again in Coventry.

After a year when most owners have seen their pride and joy languishing in a garage it’s time to dust off those classics, pump up the tyres and check the oil as Coventry Leofric Lions Club are organising their second Motoring Festival on September 12.

The event, starting and finishing at Coombe Country Park, will see the vehicles set off at 11am on their 30-mile journey through the Warwickshire countryside.

The drive replaces the much loved Shakespeare Run which disappeared from the motoring scene a number of years ago.

After the run the cars will form a static display at the park where there will be plenty to entertain the drivers and their families. Prizes will be awarded for the best Coventry car and the best dressed crew.

Owners of a classic which could do with a run out can log onto www.leofriclions.org.uk and book a spot. Cars cost just £15 and motorcycles £7.50 – but the event is limited to 250 cars and 50 motorcycles and places are going fast.

All proceeds raised on the day will be distributed by the Lions among worthy causes in the Coventry area.
