AN INFERNO at a Ryton-on-Dunsmore scrapyard – the second in two years – sent plumes of smoke across the A45 this afternoon (Tuesday February 11).

Around 50 cars caught fire at Whites of Coventry at 1.30pm.

Six fire engines from Warwickshire and West Midlands fire services tackled the blaze.

A Warwickshire Police spokesman said officers were not required at the scene.

The scrapyard also caught fire in June 2018, sending black smoke across the skies of Coventry and Warwickshire and causing chaos on the A45 and A46.
