Vengaboys set to return to Coventry two years after last visiting the city

THE VENGABOYS are returning to Coventry nearly two years since they last performed at the venue.

The four-piece Euro-dance favourites will play the Kasbah on Friday (March 3) with tickets only available to NUS (student) card holders.

The group shot to international fame in the late 90s, best known for their party anthems including ‘We’re Going to Ibiza’ and ‘Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom’.

They reached the top of the UK Official Singles Chart twice and broke into the top 10 on seven separate occasions since forming in Rotterdam in 1996.

Despite disbanded in 2001, they staged a comeback in 2009 and have been touring ever since.

Vengaboys performed as a part of a bumper line-up at the Kasbah in August 2015, which included the Blazin’ Squad, Big Brovaz and Booty Luv.

Amarjit Kullar, of the Kasbah, said: “Vengaboys bring that same energy to the stage that they did when they first started out over 20 years ago and we can’t wait to see them back on stage at the Kasbah.

“Cascada performed here recently and that went down incredibly well – we’re hoping this will be an even bigger night, proving that Coventry really does love Eurodance.

“Everyone knows them, everyone knows their songs and that should make for a fun-filled night.

“I hope everyone comes down to join in the party.”

The event is strictly for NUS Card holders only.

Admission to the event costs £5 and doors open at 9pm.
