COVENTRY Blaze have confirmed the re-signing of British defenceman Archie Hazeldine on a new one-way, two-year deal.
The 20-year-old iced 39 times in Elite League competitions with Blaze last season and had two assists.
And the 6ft 3in blue-liner also played 30 times for the NIHL’s Telford Tigers as part of a two-way deal, and amassed an impressive 30 points (five goals, 25 assists) as the Tigers reached the play-off semi-finals.
Blaze head coach, Kevin Moore, said: “I am really happy that Archie is on board for two seasons. He skates well and has a good level of skill. His potential in both ends of the rink is really exciting.
“I am eager to help develop his game so that he can become one of the more well-rounded British defenceman in the league.”
Hazeldine moved to Coventry ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, following two seasons split between the Nottingham Panthers (EIHL) and Leeds Knights (NIHL).
In 51 appearances for the Panthers, Nottingham born Hazeldine contributed 10 points (one goal, nine assists) and with Leeds he had 44 points (11 goals, 33 assists), helping them to a league and play-off championship.
Internationally, Hazeldine has represented Great Britain at the under-18 and 20’s World Junior Championships winning a silver and two bronze medals.
