COVENTRY Blaze have signed Estonian international forward Morten Jürgens.
The 24-year-old joins Blaze after three successful seasons playing in Finland with Mestis club Kiekko-Espoo.
And the 6ft 4in forward registered 55 points (17 goals, 38 assists) in 131 regular season and play-off games with 287 penalty minutes.
Blaze head coach, Kevin Moore, said: “Morten is a physical player who plays with a competitiveness that will spark our team this season.
“He has a good shot and understands how to use net front space to his advantage. Morten is someone who teammates love to be around, and he will be a great fit within our room this season.”
In 2022/23 Jürgens was a Mestis and Suomen Cup champion and a Mestis silver medallist the previous year while he claimed a Mestis bronze medal last season.
Jürgens developed through the Finnish youth system, notably with Jukurit and Kiekko-Espoo where he turned professional.
Internationally, Jürgens has represented his country at all youth levels, and recently made his debut appearance at the World Championship where he impressed scoring four points (three goals, one assist) in five games at Division 1B level.
