KENILWORTH suffered a bad day at the office as all three sides were beaten on Saturday.
The club’s 1st XI travelled to Standard in their 45-over Warwickshire League South East Group A match, only to be heavy 125-run losers in a rain-affected match as the DL method was applied.
Standard were bowled out for 222 in the last over of their innings as Will Hawker hit an impressive 77, whilst Tom Kidd chipped in with 27, Miller 22, Vaughan 22 and Leybourne 22 in a solid batting performance.
Darius Potten-Ravenshad was the pick of the Town’s bowlers in taking 4-40 from his spell, whilst Jono Sparks took 2-32, Joe Atkinson 2-34 and Connor Shingler 1-23.
Kenilworth lost early wickets and then a few overs to the rain. Wickets continued to fall in the reduced run chase and they were out of sorts.
Matt Casey made 23, Tom Booker 20 and Stuart Cope 12, but they were the only batters to reach double figures as the side were skittled out for 93 in 25 overs.
Kidd took 4-38, Patel 3-16 and the Fox brothers both 1-24 in a very comfortable win for the hosts.
DESPITE a classy 78 from Mark Stranks who hit nine boundaries, 26 from Adam Huxford and 13 from Will Sheehan, Kenilworth 2nds’ efforts were in vain as Standard easily reached 184-4 with ten overs in hand.
Sawbridge took 3-30, Leybourne 2-39 and Thornton 1-21 for the visitors as the Seconds posted 182-6 in their 45 overs.
Replying, Standard were in total control as Leybourne hit 67 and Keates 39 despite the best efforts of Sheehan who took 1-15, Christian Mortlock claimed 1-16 and there was 1-27 from both Jack Howard and Tom Skinner as the side still look for their first victory of the season.
THE 3RDS travelled the short distance to neighbours Leek Wootton, only to return empty-handed as they lost by six wickets.
Kenilworth posted 153 all out as Ed Smith was left stranded on 45 not out after hitting nine boundaries after Dave Smithson had scored 28, Will Thompson 23 and Yash Joshi 15 as Dart took 3-52, Jenkins 2-19, Alison 2-13, Kumar 2-17 and Lota 1-17 for the hosts.
In reply, Somerville made 67 for Leek Wootton, Alison 27 and Jenkins was unbeaten on 15 as they easily reached the winning post with 13 overs to spare, ending the match when they reached 154-4.
Thompson took 1-13, Matt Dadswell 1-23, Smith 1-30 and Will Machin 1-38 for Kenilworth.
