BOURTON and Frankton Football Club will begin preparations for the 2020/21 football season with the start of pre-season training in July and are inviting new players and team managers to join them for the forthcoming campaign.
With a history spanning more than 100 years, Bourton and Frankton are one of the oldest and few remaining village football clubs in existence in the locality.
For the new season, the club, based in the village of Bourton-on-Dunsmore near Rugby, will be playing in Division Three of the Coventry Alliance Football League on Saturday afternoons, with the possibility of also reinstating its reserve team.
As an FA Charter Status Club, it continues to offer excellent facilities and continues to be recognised as having one of the best pitches and playing surfaces in the region outside of non-League football.
In addition to changing facilities and showers, Bourton and Frankton’s training facilities have been further boosted with the completion of an upgrade to its floodlighting system.
As well as enjoying a thriving social scene, club training is held every Tuesday between 7-8.30pm (meet 6.45pm) throughout the course of the season at their ground on Main Street, Bourton-on-Dunsmore.
Although details regarding the start of the 2020/21 have yet to be confirmed by the County FA, pre-season training with small group sessions under social distancing guidelines is permitted and gets under way on Tuesday, July 7.
Bourton and Frankton have an excellent track record over the years of developing and bringing through young talent. With that in mind, they are again keen to hear from and welcome players aged 16 and over, including those who are looking to make the transition from junior/youth or Sunday football into Saturday adult/senior level.
In addition, the club are also keen to recruit a new team manager for the coming season and beyond.
