Nominate your school superstars for 2019/20 Marathon Kids Festival of Running Awards

Coventry Editorial 15th Jun, 2020   0

IT IS time to nominate pupils and staff for the 2019/20 Marathon Kids Festival of Running Awards.

With the academic year drawing to a close in the coming weeks, organisers are asking for you to salute those who you feel are most deserving of an award.

Due to the restrictions placed on the awards by COVID-19, the Marathon Kids Festival of Running will now be a virtual prizegiving event and nominations are encouraged across a number of different categories.

A spokesman said: “The last three months have seen the Marathon Kids programme severely impacted, but we are proud to say tens of thousands of children have engaged in it since September and we are extremely grateful to the teachers and those behind the scenes who made it happen.

“We will be handing out awards for the most improved runner, the most enthusiastic Marathon Kid, a child role model, a teacher role model and gold, silver and bronze certificates for children who have run the furthest during the 2019/20 academic year.

“There will be gold, silver and bronze certificates for the schools who have achieved the most kilometres in the 2019/20 academic year and we will also be awarding certificates for the schools with the highest average distance per child in this academic year.”

Put a smile on the faces of pupils and staff by nominating them on the form on the Kids Run Free website by Wednesday, June 24. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, July 1. Visit https://www.kidsrunfree.co.uk/festival-of-running-awards.
