COVENTRY Rugby chief executive Nick Johnston believes a new development scheme is vital to the club’s long-term vision and potential development of Butts Park Arena.
The launch of a new development scheme designed to support over-55s in the affordable living sector who require an element of social care and/or support.
And the construction of 90 new dwellings within touching distance of the city centre, located on public transport routes, is part of a wider project which will see excellent facilities established at the site.
Cov’s plans include a new community health and wellbeing hub incorporating a health diagnostics centre and a gym.
The club’s directors believe setting the scheme in motion will hugely benefit the local community with a particular emphasis on supporting those most in need while also securing the long-term financial future of the rugby club.
And Coventry are urgently calling on supporters and the wider community to support the scheme by spreading the word to family, friends and work colleagues who might take an interest in the new dwellings.
Johnston said: “We firmly believe we have a great plan here that will benefit our community while also giving the city’s oldest sports club some solid financial foundations for the future.
“To get this scheme to the next stage we simply now need to establish possible interest levels from local people.
“We therefore are making members of the public from all walks of life aware of what we’re doing so they can get in touch if it sounds like it might suit them.
“Importantly, this initial contact does not commit someone to the scheme but it will greatly assist in gauging possible interest.”
