COVENTRY City have signed young defender Josh Wilson-Esbrand on loan from Premier League champions Manchester City.
The 20-year-old left-back has joined the Sky Blues until the end of the season and has featured twice for Man City in the Champions League this term.
Wilson-Esbrand came off the bench in wins against both FC Copenhagen and Sevilla and made his first-team debut for City against Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup last season in which he provided an assist.
City boss Mark Robins said: “We are delighted to welcome Josh to the Club on loan until the end of the season.
“He is a very talented footballer, with pace, power and technical ability, and a lot of potential.
“He has been in and around the first-team set-up at Manchester City over the last 12 months and this is his first loan spell away from the Club.
“We’re looking forward to working with him and thank everyone at Manchester City for their co-operation in Josh joining us for the rest of the season.”
The England under-20 international’s move to the Coventry Building Society Arena is his first loan spell away from the Premier League side.
Wilson-Esbrand joins fellow Man City loanee Callum Doyle at the CBS Arena.
