BEDWORTH United climbed out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 victory against Shepshed Dynamo.
Goals from Dexter Walters and Adam Hanson after the break at The Oval earned Bedworth their second league win of the season.
The result means Bedworth sit 13th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.
And the home side went close to an opener inside the first minute as Jonathan Letford’s shot came back off the crossbar after good work from Alex Dean.
Bedworth threatened the Shepshed goal again as captain Will Grocott saw his venomous effort pushed behind by Shepshed goalkeeper Alex Akers.
United goalkeeper Liam O’Brien then made a crucial save with his legs at the other end to deny Shepshed’s Tristan Dunkley when one-on-one.
However, Bedworth eventually broke the deadlock on 56 minutes when Walters fired an emphatic finish past Akers from Luke Rowe’s low cross from the left.
And United sealed the points with five minutes left to play as substitute Hanson latched onto a ball in-behind the Shepshed defence and produced a cool finish.
Bedworth are next in action against Coleshill Town on Tuesday, September 24 with kick-off at 7.45pm at The Oval.
