A NEW candidate has emerged for the vacant Coventry City manager’s job as the Sky Blues search for a replacement for former boss Mark Robins.
While still some way down the list in the latest odds with Sky Bet, former Fulham midfielder and Portugal international Luis Boa Morte has emerged as a candidate for the role.
Boa Morte (25/1) was assistant manager to Marco Silva at Everton following his appointment at Goodison Park in June 2019.
He later followed Silva to former club Fulham as first team coach in July 2021 before departing in March 2024 to manage Guinea-Bissau on the international stage.
Chelsea great Frank Lampard (2/5) remains the odds-on favourite to land the job and has submitted his CV to the club.
Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield (7/1) remains second favourite just ahead of interim England manager Lee Carsley (8/1) and former Sky Blues striker Robbie Keane (9/1).
Further back in the odds, former Stoke City and Plymouth Argyle boss Steven Schumacher (12/1) remains an outside bet.
Current interim boss Rhys Carr (18/1), John Eustace (22/1) and Nicky Butt (22/1) are all ahead of Boa Morte in the odds.
Carr guided City to a 2-2 draw against league leaders Sunderland in his first game in charge of the club last weekend.
Coventry are seeking a new manager to replace former boss Robins who led the club to two promotions and an FA Cup semi-final during his near eight-year tenure.
