FRANK Lampard is in ‘advanced talks’ to become the next Coventry City manager according to Sky Sports News.
Lampard is the odds-on (1/9) favourite with Sky Bet to replace former Sky Blues boss Mark Robins.
Coventry sacked Robins earlier this month following the club’s underwhelming start to the Championship season.
Sky Sports understands no agreement has been reached between Lampard and the club with talks to continue this week.
The 46-year-old enjoyed a fine first season in management as he took Derby County to the Championship play-off final in 2018/19.
He departed for former club Chelsea in July 2019 and was later sacked by the Blues in January 2021.
Lampard then spent a year in charge of Everton as he successfully guided the Toffees to Premier League safety.
He returned to Chelsea as caretaker manager at the end of the 2022/23 campaign but won just one of his 11 games at the helm.
