FRANK Lampard has confirmed influential Coventry City midfielder Jack Rudoni will miss ‘some weeks’ after picking up a calf injury.
Rudoni played no part in Coventry’s comfortable 3-0 win against 10-man Birmingham City last weekend.
And Lampard confirmed the midfielder has suffered a calf problem which will sideline him for the next few weeks at least.
Lampard said: “He’s got a calf injury. He’s going to be out for some weeks.
“We have to see. I don’t want to put a date on it at this point. It’s disappointing.
“The injury came from the Leicester game. He had a bad shoulder all week so hasn’t really trained.
“We found out at the back end of the week [about the calf]. It’s a big loss for us. He’s important for us.”
Lampard handed a first start of the season to Josh Eccles against Blues as the midfielder impressed in a more advanced role.
And Lampard insists he trusts the players available to him to deal with the absence of Rudoni who has scored two goals and provided one assist in six appearances this season.
Lampard added: “We know our squad isn’t huge but we have trust in the players.
“For this period we’re in without Rudi, whether it’s the individuals coming in or the coaching staff finding ways.
“We’ll have to take each game as it comes.”
