TICKETS for a hotly anticipated revival gig featuring leading stars of 80s music go on general sale next week.
Stepback will see top stars of the ‘golden eighties’ including Tony Hadley, Jason Donovan, Paul Young and others take to the stage at the Ericsson Indoor Arena on Saturday, October 14.
Music fans will be able to turn back the clock during the night of 80s tunes – and 8,000 tickets will go on sale from next Wednesday (March 1).
Tickets for the whole event are limited to 10,000 people, with an initial 2,000 early bird tickets selling out in less than a week while VIP tickets were snapped up in hours.
The event will be compered by Smooth FM’s Nigel Freshman and is being promoted by Coventry-based Showtime Promotions.
Dan Nelmes, director of Showtime Promotions, said: “The initial response we have seen for StepBack has been incredible.
“The evening will be a memorable celebration of the sounds of a very special musical decade.
“There is a real buzz of excitement surrounding the event as it’s a rare opportunity to see so many iconic stars on one stage in one night.
“It’s also brilliant news that Coventry is attracting artists of this calibre, and can only help with the bid to become City of Culture in 2021.”
StepBack is the latest concert to be held inside the Ricoh Arena’s Ericsson Indoor Arena – where Craig David is also due to perform on Saturday, April 8.
Andy Gibb, managing director at the Ricoh Arena, said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting StepBack and welcoming a range of top acts from the 80s to our venue.
“This is the first time we have staged an 80s event like this with some of the top acts of that era, it promises to be a fun night.”
