An early taste of Christmas at the Albany

Coventry Editorial 6th Nov, 2014 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

CHRISTMAS is coming early in the city when a young theatre group take to the stage.

Coventry Youth Operetta Group, known fondly by its members as YOG, will be performing Miracle on 32th Street later this month at the Albany Theatre.

The production is based on the cherished festive film which features the late Richard Attenborough as the iconic Father Christmas.

YOG was establised in 1971 after Coventry-based performer Joan Betts recognised a gap for a theatre group for young people.

The society is open to ages eight to 21 and puts on two musicals every year.

Their performance of Miracle on 34th Street will play at the Albany Theatre each night from Wednesday, November 12 until Saturday, November 15 with a matinee performance on the Saturday afternoon.
