ORGANISERS of Coventry’s Godiva Festival have announced this year’s comedy line up to be showcased in the Paradise Tent on Friday (July 1) night.

The line up includes Howard Read, Patrick Monahan, Ava Vidal, Tiernan Douieb, Jonathan Mayor and Mitch Benn.

Best known for his comedy rock songs performed on BBC radio, Mitch Benn is an English musician, comedian and author and will be supported by Jonathan Mayor – a stand-up comedian well-known and respected on the national circuit.

E4’s Kings of Comedy guest Ava Vidal will also appear in the comedy line up which is presented by the Hobgoblin Leamington Comedy Festival.

Lee House, director of Godiva Festival and events manager at Coventry City Council, said: “Our comedy line up for Godiva Festival has always featured some great up and coming comedians over the past few years.

“In the earlier days we had the likes of Michael McIntyre and Shappi Khorsandi, so we’d really like to continue that trend.

“We’re sure that the range of comedy this year will offer some great laughs and there’s something for everyone.”

This year’s Godiva Festival will take place on July 1-3 in the city’s War Memorial Park, and will feature a mix of live music, comedy, family entertainment, trade stalls and a fairground.
