Do you have what it takes to sit in BBC Mastermind's famous black chair?

Coventry Editorial 10th Feb, 2021 Updated: 10th Feb, 2021

Hat Trick / Hindsight Productions are currently casting contestants for the next series of the BBC Two quiz show – Mastermind.

Do you think you have what it takes to sit in the famous black chair?

Know enough about your specialist subject to be forensically tested?

How’s your general knowledge? Are you a pub quiz whizz?

Many start – but only one will finish… Will it be you?

What type of people are they looking for?

The production company say they are looking to cast a diverse range of people throughout the whole of the UK.  Anyone can apply as long they are aged 18 or over and are a resident of UK (including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man).

You will obviously need some General Knowledge, but they say they’re really interested in your three specialist subjects – the wider the range the better.

As well as regular quizzers, they also want to encourage people who might not usually apply for a quiz shows to get involved.

How to apply

It’s really easy to apply, just email for a link to their online application form.

How do you get on the show?

After you have submitted your application, one of the casting team may get in touch to organise a Skype audition with you. They will do a short general knowledge quiz and learn more about why you’ve chosen your Specialist Subjects.

The audition will only take 15-20 minutes and they say it will be “very relaxed and really good fun.”

Auditions are currently underway, with the heats filming this Summer.
