Folk stalwarts stop off at Temperance in Leamington

FOLK stalwarts have teamed-up for a UK tour including a gig at Temperance in Leamington.

Dan Webster and Bella Gaffney play the Bath Street venue on Friday April 21.

Dan’s music is influenced by the sounds and storytelling traditions of Americana, which he melds with an honest Northern English perspective in his songwriting. He will be releasing his fifth studio album later this year and has just returned from a highly successful tour of Australia.

Bella, who writes folk inspired songs which she performs along with her own original arrangements of traditional pieces. is preparing for the release of her new album ‘Reflection’ this summer. Bella is also member of folk band The Magpies.




They will be joined by special guest Emily Lawler, Dan’s fiddle-playing duo partner for the past five years.

She plays in the UK line up of Lachlan Bryan’s Wildes and is also an accomplished guitarist, writer and singer in her own right.


And Irish folk songsmith Daoirí Farrell will be stopping off at Temperance two days later on Sunday April 23.

The Dublin-born singer and bouzouki player’s fourth solo album, ‘The Wedding Above In Glencree’, in his own words, ‘combines the rawness of my first album, the impact of my second album and the beauty of my third album.’

A product of Dublin’s famous club An Góilin Traditional Singers, since launching his own solo live career at the 2016 Celtic Connections, his career has fone from from strength to strength.
