Rock legends Primal Scream to play Coventry gig

ROCK legends Primal Scream will play in Coventry this year.

The band will play at The Empire club in Far Gosford Street on Sunday, December 1.

The concert will celebrate their new singles collection Maximum Rock ‘N’ Roll, charting the bands three-and-a-half decades at the top.

The collection covers their entire singles discography, from their landmark albums ‘Screamadelica’ and ‘XTRMNTR’ through to 2016’s ‘Where The Light Gets In’ featuring Sky Ferreira.

It also includes the first official reissue of their 1986 cult classic b-side ‘Velocity Girl’, which was launched with a new video featuring footage of the iconic actress and model Edie Sedgwick.

The rock band was formed in 1982 in Glasgow by Bobby Gillespie and Jim Beattie, redefining the genre with a psychedelic and garage rock influence.

They recently played two special warm-up shows in London and Brighton, performing classics such as ‘Movin’ On Up’, ‘Loaded’, ‘Rocks’ and ‘Kill All Hippies’ to name just a few.

Tickets go on sale from 9am on Friday, June 7 and will be available from www.ticketweb.uk
