Simply Tina set to add some rock and roll to Coventry's Belgrade next month

A YEAR after headlining the Glastonbudget Festival, the largest tribute festival of the year, Totally Tina will bring some rock and roll to the Belgrade Theatre on Tuesday (June 7).

An award-winning tribute to Tina Turner – the Queen of rock and roll – Totally Tina is currently in the middle of a UK theatre tour with a live band, dancers and leading lady Justine Riddoch.

As oppose to being a biography, the show focuses on Tina’s live concert career – replicating scenes from various tours over the last 50 years with custom twists and turns created by Justine and her cast.

A professional singer with 22 years of experience, Justine has worked extensively in theatres and on national TV – she is also a much sought after session vocalist for some of the biggest record labels in the UK.

She was successful in 2002 when winning hit ITV programme ‘Stars in their Eyes’ as Anastacia.

Justine spend the following six years performing as Anastacia around the globe – enlisting a live band to create more of a show feel.

However when Anastacia stopped releasing albums, Justine’s popularity dwindled – meaning she set herself the new challenge of becoming the closest copy she could be to Tina Turner.

After hours of scrutinising video footage, watching mannerisms and movements, hand making the all important wig, deciding which costumes to copy and listening to hundreds of versions of the same songs, the band and Justine created Totally TINA.

Now, a troupe of professional dancers have been hand-picked, choreography has been created and the entire production has been rehearsed.
