THE world premiere of a piece of work by one of its founder members will be the highlight of a Spires Youth Orchestra concert in Coventry.
Memoriam is by Adam Sangster, who was part of the orchestra when it made its debut in 2012 and now studies composition at the University of Huddersfield.
And it will stand alongside pieces by Tchaikovsky and Debussy in the orchestra’s summer concert at King Henry VIII School hall on Warwick Road on Saturday, July 5 at 7.30pm.
As well as excerpts from Debussy’s Bergamasque Suite and Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, the programme also includes Vivaldi’s Concerto in A minor, the Flower Duet by Delibes, Weber’s Concertino for Clarinet and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Leroy Anderson and Johann Strauss.
Tickets are priced from £5 on the door or by calling 024 7637 0515.
