A BABY loss support charity has been handed £10,000 to help bereaved parents in their hour of need.
Balsall Common based charity, the Lily Mae Foundation was presented with a cheque from Jack Taylor, the Warwick branch manager of Howdens.
Jack wanted to support the charity which helped him after his son, Oscar, was stillborn in 2015.
Jack said: “Oscar is never far from our thoughts and is always in our hearts.
“Being able to support The Lily Mae Foundation through Howdens in his name leaves a little legacy behind to help them to support other bereaved parents as they have supported us.
“The Foundation is proof that there is amazing support out there if you can be strong enough to look for it.
“Not being able to celebrate Oscar’s birthday with him or watching him grow up will always leave us with a huge feeling of loss.
“But we hope that by helping The Lily Mae Foundation in his name he will continue to live on through others.”
The funds will be used to provide memory boxes for bereaved parents, provide one-to-one support, help dads and grandads through the Still Parents podcast and supports siblings who have lost a baby brother or sister.
Charity founders, Amy and Ryan Jackson, said: “Thanks to the generous donation from Howdens, we will be able to grow and sustain our baby loss support services.
“We are sure that Oscar will be extremely proud of his daddy for securing the donation to help many Bereaved Parents and their Families in their time of need.”
