A MAN was stabbed in New Union Street, Coventry, around 7pm last night.
The 29-year-old ran into a nearby shop for help and the staff there called 999.
The victim was taken to hospital with multiple stab injuries although his wounds are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police are carrying out a forensic examination in a bid to find out the circumstances surrounding the attack.
CCTV is also being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigations and neighbourhood officers are out conducting reassurance patrols in the area.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding, assault and criminal damage, and will be questioned in due course.
