AN 18-YEAR-OLD man has been convicted of riding an e-scooter on a road in Coventry earlier this year without insurance.
He received eight penalty points on his driving licence and was ordered to pay £320 in fines and court costs.
West Midlands Police have warned people the only e-scooters allowed on the roads in the areas which are trialling them as part of a Government scheme. They must also be the official VOI e-scooters which are maintained to the required standard and have speed-limiting devices on them for when they are being ridden in busy and pedestrianised areas.
